This TX climate stinks!

It is hot, humid and wet here. You can feel the air as you breath it. Seriously. I wish we could've waited to move after Eric finished school because he's already missed over a week of school. He has been diagnosed with asthma. Shocking! I knew he had been sick since Easter and I thought it was just the crud, but he got worse. I took him in, expecting the Dr to say maybe bronchitis, but instead he said asthma. So we started an inhaler twice a day, but he didn't get any better. So, back to the Dr. and after chest & sinus Xrays, he also had a sinus infection. Plus the Dr thinks his reflux is acting up because of all the allergies down here. At one point last week and for several days, he was on 6 different meds a day. I felt like I was taking care of a geriatric patient. I had to write everything down on paper.

Thankfully, he is much better now. I will have to say, once again, this is where I really miss his old school in Utah...LOTS!!! I had an issue with the PE teacher at his current school that made me livid, thus prompting me to keep him home for a week to insure my instructions were followed. That should not be. I have since spoken with the office staff and the PE teacher and we all seem to be on the same page...hopefully. The office staff is going to get to know me and my face quickly. I will not tolerate excuses. It will only take one episode for him to quite breathing and that will be it. This diagnosis has stressed me out and I pray daily that he outgrows this. I am so struggling with this and it is still new and my feelings are still raw from the school episode, so I'm not sure I should be even be blogging about this. I know, in time, God will give me the strength and the knowledge to deal with this.

I am a worrier by nature. It was hard for me to let Eric go to this new school when he was just a normal kid. It is much harder for me now that he is an "asthma child". I know God will watch over him. I pray that God will put a protective hedge around him.

"Welcome to Texas!" as his Dr's have said. Yay! God be with us...please!

Tooth #2 came out today...#3 is loose!

Eric lost his 2nd tooth today! He wants to keep this one, too. I bet he keeps them all. :o) I can not believe it. Tooth #3 is loose, too, and it's one of the top front teeth. If it comes out soon, he's gonna make some cute pictures. This is so much fun!!

The Tooth Fairy came after all!

Eric's first tooth came out and at first, he was super excited for the Tooth Fairy to come. He even went as far as putting the tooth under his pillow...only to decide at the last minute that he really wanted to keep it. We were so surprised. Scott told him that if he didn't give his tooth to the Tooth Fairy she wouldn't leave him any money and Eric said, "That's OK, I have a bank account anyway. It doesn't matter." (Actually it's a savings account that we just opened for him so he could start saving his allowance. It's all the same to him though - Ha!) Scott and I just looked at each other and laughed. What can you say to that? However we were really bummed out by his decision because the Tooth Fairy is just as much fun for us. :o)

A few days later Scott told Eric that if he wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy and left it with his tooth under his pillow she would probably leave his tooth and maybe a surprise, too. So, that's what he did. He wrote a letter telling the Tooth Fairy he wanted to keep his tooth and put the letter and tooth under his pillow. The next morning, he had a letter from the Tooth Fairy, some money and best of all his tooth was still there. The look on his face was priceless!

The Tooth is Out!

Today was the day! We were eating lunch at a catfish place in Ft. Worth this afternoon and Eric started complaining about how his tooth was hurting, so I told him I would look at it after we finished eating. So, after lunch we went outside and I looked at his tooth and wiggled it and out it came. Right there in the parking lot! Ha! He didn't even know what had happened. He was shocked and very excited.

He can not wait for the Tooth Fairy to come tonight.
This is so exciting!

Eric's Loose Tooth

Eric has his first loose tooth. The bottom two front teeth have been loose for a while, but the one on the left there is really loose now. I expect the tooth fairy will be paying him a visit really soon. How fun!

Rain and Thunderstorms

Aahh...a thunderstorm and the fresh smell of rain. I had forgotten how dark it got when it stormed. Nice nap weather. :o) I was so thankful for the nice soaking rain. Now I don't have to water the sod for a couple of days. Thank you Lord!

Everything is so green here right now. I need to take some pictures this weekend and post them.

Happy Easter!

We have had a great weekend. My parents and Scott's mom came over and spent the weekend with us. What fun! Eric has been so wound up all weekend. He just can't believe his grandparents were here...at his house! :o) It's an 8 hour drive between us and them now. Not bad.

Scott took us on a tour of the Lockheed Martin plant where he works and it is really neat. It was neat to see the airplanes on the line from start to finish. I've never seen anything like it before. I am so thankful for Scott's new job opportunity. I think he is going to love working there. (Thank you Lord!!)
